Issuing the PIN

To issue the PIN to the client:

 

1.      Select the PIN issue method for the client from the drop-down list next to the Method field in the PIN Information section of the Case Information - Card Tab page. By default, the None value displays.

·          ARU and POS display in the drop-down list only if your State uses these methods of PIN selection.

·          If Mailer Sent is selected, the PIN is automatically issued and mailed to the client the next business day.

·          States that use one-call PIN select do not use the Issue PIN function.

2.      Click the Issue PIN button. The Case Information - Card Tab page displays with the following confirmation message:

a.     ARU method:

The PIN issue for the new card was successfully completed. The control number for ARU method PIN issue is XXXXXX. (The client uses this control number when calling the ARU, and follows the prompts to select a PIN.)

b.     Mailer Sent method:

The PIN issue for the new card was successfully completed. The new PIN will be mailed to the address listed on the Client tab.

c.      POS method:

The PIN issue for the new card was successfully completed. The client can now select a PIN. (The client uses a POS terminal at their local office to select a PIN).

The Issue PIN button is enabled only when a client is issued with a new/replacement card or requests for the PIN to be changed.
