The term Password Rules indicates the following rules must be set for password composition and use:
| Rule | Description |
| Minimum and Maximum Characters | · Minimum of 8 characters · Maximum of 14 characters · Only 3 repeating characters allowed (same characters next to each other) · Must contain both upper and lower case alphabetic letters · Must contain at least one (1) numeric character. |
| Attempts | If you enter your password incorrectly for 3 consecutive entries, your account is locked and further access into the application is denied. |
| Expiration | · Every 45 days your password is set to expire and you will need to select a new password. · Warnings are issued 5 days prior to expiration · After 90 days of inactivity your User ID will be deactivated. Contact your security administrator to reactivate. If you experience problems, please call State Support Services. |
| History | · Cannot reuse previous 10 passwords · Cannot reuse passwords for 270 days. |
| If this is the first time you are logging on or your password expired, the Change Password page displays with the message, “Your password has expired”. Enter a new password below to continue the log in process. | |
